Today was back to normal work day after a really horrible, bitty week last week and then a long weekend. I’ve a cheek to moan considering I was off yesterday, but I found getting up today really hard! Think my body was starting to relax by yesterday so to get back to routine today was a bit unwelcome!
None the less I got up and walked Murphy and had a nice healthy breakfast – spinach, tomatoes, eggs and bacon. It’s nine weeks today until we head off on holiday for a week and I entered another half marathon last night, so I am trying my best where I can to make sure I’m eating well and in line with my goals.
Right now, I am loving eating my breakfast at the dining table. The sun shines right in the window, Murphy lies by my feet and I make sure I have got time to eat properly and read a little of something. This photo is of the jar of flowers I have in the middle of my table. It’s my bouquet from Amanda’s wedding and the flowers make me feel so happy and summery.
The last week has really been pretty pants, all things considered, and so I kind of had to abandon my plans for getting back to blogging. However, it’s a new month now and time to make some changes.
After last week, it was nice this weekend to just get some time to relax and chill with Martin. I’ve been for two good runs in as many days and walks with Murphy, where we saw the lovely spring view in the photo from day – lambs and daffodils, I don’t think you could beat that! Last night I sat on the couch and watch TV for the first time in ages. It’s been nice to have an extra day today as well to be off work, although I could do with another as I am still knackered!
Today we came back from our amazing weekend in Arran (another blog on this later, and I will catch up on my pictures that’s I’ve missed). I always feel so sad coming back, but I am very lucky to know that I will get another trip over there very very soon.
Today is Mother’s Day, so today’s picture is one of my mum but also two other very important ladies in my life – my gran and my aunt. I’m very lucky to have three inspiring and loving ladies looking after me, advising me and showing me the way. If I can turn out to be half the lady they are then I’ll be doing ok.
Today was our full day on the Isle of Arran and this was the view I woke up to. It was the most stunning day imaginable, warm already by 9am and not a cloud in the sky.
We all got up early and a little worse for wear after the celebrations the nighth before. Matt, Paul and I headed out a walk up round the back of the house and then I headed to the shop for breakfast things. Meghan made poached eggs for everyone and I was in charge of toast – as I couldn’t possibly get that wrong!
We then got organised and headed off for the bus to Whiting Bay to climb up and see the Glenashdale Falls. I’ll do a full blog post on this walk later, as it deserves my full attention, but for now, here are some photos:
The weather played nice all day for us (exceptionally so) and it was the perfect walk. Afterwards we headed home and got organised for the party night for Matt’s birthday.
We decorated the house and realised we didn’t have a birthday cake, so I literally had to run for cake.
We went out for dinner at night and then for a few drinks in the pubs and the house. It was a great way to spend a day.
We are off to Arran this weekend!! It is our friend Matt’s 30th birthday so I suggested that we head off to Arran to my mum’s holiday cottage for the weekend to celebrate!
It was such a rush getting down and making sure we got on the ferry on time but we did (although we didn’t get the car on) and then we were off; sharing chips and drinking wine. A great start to a great weekend.
Tonight was so lovely that I headed back out to my new wee trail on my walk with Murphy. It was a gorgeous night and a perfect walk.
Thursdays are usually pretty busy as I finish work sharp, head home, walk Murphy, go to my PT session, home, wash, eat and head with Murph to puppy training until about nine ish. However, I knew this week was going to be busy so I moved my PT to another time and this meant I could stay on at work for a bit to get some things done and then really relax and enjoy a walk with the pup. Feeling very glad that I did.
Today was my birthday! So here to celebrate is a picture of me looking very tired with a big teddy bear pup for a cuddle!
I am 26 today, and I suppose any birthday should be a time for reflection. I’m not really too sure what I have achieved in the past year when I think about it sometimes, but then I have to say I have ticked some major life boxes:
Visited Italy, Spain, Portugal and France
Got a puppy
Continued with house renovations
So really, ALOT has happened in the last year. I guess, it has just gone so quickly that I haven’t taken it all in! However when I look back at how many happy times there have been, I can’t help but feel incredibly grateful! I hope there are as many to come this year!
